Sow in fall. Dream in blue. Texas Bluebonnet seeds for a cobalt-blue spring statement in sunny, well-drained ground.
A little Texas. A lot of blue. Texas Bluebonnet turns a sunny patch into the kind of spring scene people pull over to photograph: cobalt-blue flower spikes, bright white tips, and a low green carpet that lets the color do the talking. Grow a drift beside a path, give a sunny border a distinctly Texas opening act, or plant a meadow-style patch worth coming home to. This is Lupinus texensis, a Texas native winter annual. Sow in fall where conditions suit, give it sun and good drainage, and let spring make its entrance.

What to Expect
Let the planting develop.
A cool-season annual, usually about 1–2 feet tall, with a spring flowering season in suitable Texas conditions. Fall seedlings develop roots and foliage before spring flowers. Hard-coated seed can germinate gradually over more than one season, and reseeding depends on site conditions and allowing seed pods to mature. Planting date, weather, and care affect the result.

How to Plant
Prepare, sow, and press.
Before broadcasting, thoroughly mix this individual seed with dry sand, vermiculite, or another clean, dry carrier. A carrier is strongly recommended for most individual species and is especially important for small or lightweight seed. Choose a sunny site with well-drained soil. Clear competing growth, expose bare soil, and scatter evenly. Firm seed into the surface and cover lightly, no deeper than ¼ inch. Water gently and keep lightly moist through establishment; avoid soggy soil. Do not apply heavy fertilizer. Allow pods to mature before cutting back if natural reseeding is your goal. Seeds and plants are not for consumption; keep away from grazing animals.
Bluebonnets play the long game: fall sowing, winter roots, then blue-and-white flower spikes when the season is right. Give the planting a sunny, well-drained home and time to settle in. Hard-coated seed may sprout over multiple seasons, so patience belongs in the planting plan.

Blue for you. Blooms for bees.
Let the visitors find their favorite blue.
Flowers welcome visiting bees while the low foliage and upright spikes give your planting a recognizable spring silhouette. Let seed pods mature if you want to encourage a future encore. This is ornamental seed for planting; seeds and plants are not food or livestock forage.
