How to Plant
Before broadcasting, thoroughly mix this individual seed with dry sand, vermiculite, or another clean, dry carrier. A carrier is strongly recommended for most individual species and is especially important for small or lightweight seed. Sow 1/4 inch deep in prepared soil. Keep the surface evenly moist during germination, without waterlogging. Direct sow where plants will grow, water gently, and thin to 8–10 inches apart. Flowering favors cooler conditions and can finish before the warm-season zinnias.
