A garden with a point of view

Good Optics.

Let the warm colors lead and the cool colors carry the eye across the garden. Five zinnias bring bold flower shapes, blue cornflowers add a lighter note, and Salvia farinacea supplies the indigo spires. Arrange your own color wheel outside, then cut a little spectrum for the table.

Choose the placement of every variety. Keep the packets separate and build the garden around the spaces you love.

Your packet-by-packet planting guide

Give each color its own place.

Plant each packet separately so you can follow its sowing depth, spacing and seasonal window. Clear weeds and grass, loosen the soil surface and water gently after sowing.

Packets are filled by weight. Counts are estimates, not exact guarantees; natural seed size varies by lot. The packet estimates add to approximately 2,025 seeds. Total net seed weight: 10.1 g.

Choose a sunny spot.

Use full sun and well-drained soil. Keep tall plants where they will not shade shorter companions.

Start with steady moisture.

Keep the seedbed evenly moist through germination, without waterlogging. Thin to the spacing above and water as needed while roots establish.

Let the seasons guide you.

Cornflowers favor a cool start; zinnias favor warm soil after frost. Flowers develop in stages, so the whole collection may not bloom together.

Blue Sage is Salvia farinacea. Surface sow indoors and leave the seed uncovered; light aids germination. Transplant after frost and thin to about 12 inches apart.

A garden plan, planted your way

A suggested 200 sq ft footprint.

The illustrated 20 × 10 ft layout includes 160 sq ft of planting beds and a 40 sq ft central access path. Red, orange, yellow and green share one side; blue, indigo and violet share the other.

This is a suggested layout, not a tested broadcast coverage rate. The packets are planted individually; the area you fill depends on spacing, establishment and how many plants you choose to grow.

A few good things to know.

Is this the same as the ROY G. BLOOM blended mix?

This collection contains seven separate labeled packets for individual planting. The existing ROY G. BLOOM™ blended seed mix is a separate product with its own sizes and SKU options.

Are the seed counts exact?

Each packet is filled by weight. Counts are approximate because seed size varies naturally. Use the estimates to plan your planting.

Will every flower bloom together?

Expect a changing seasonal display. Timing, height and flower color vary with climate, planting dates and growing conditions. The images illustrate the intended palette and possible garden styling.
