How to Plant
Before broadcasting, thoroughly mix this individual seed with dry sand, vermiculite, or another clean, dry carrier. A carrier is strongly recommended for most individual species and is especially important for small or lightweight seed. Sow about 1/8 inch deep in prepared soil. Keep evenly moist through germination, then thin to 12–18 inches apart. Choose well-drained, relatively lean soil; excessive fertilizer can favor leaves over flowers. Support tall plants in exposed locations.
