15-Species Deer-Resistant Wildflower Seed Mix

I’ll Miss You, Deer™

Quick color. Returning flowers. Fifteen annuals and perennials for a pollinator-friendly meadow designed with deer pressure in mind.

Beautiful to pollinators. Less tempting to deer. I’ll Miss You, Deer™ brings together 15 annual and perennial flowers for a meadow with earlier color and a reason to return. Calendula, California poppy, candytuft, and sweet alyssum bring fresh color and softer edges, while coneflower, coreopsis, bergamot, gayfeather, and other perennials help build a lasting planting. From sunny borders to meadow patches, expect warm golds, clear blues, pinks, purples, and white. No plant is deer-proof: browsing varies with local deer pressure, season, and available food.

What to Expect

Let the planting develop.

Annuals and faster starters can bring first-season color while perennial roots establish. Many perennials flower more strongly in their second year and beyond; some annuals may reseed where conditions allow. Flowering order, height, and the balance of species vary with climate, planting date, weather, and care.

02

How to Plant

Prepare, sow, and press.

Clear grass and weeds to expose the soil, loosen the surface, and broadcast evenly. Mix seed with clean, dry sand if needed for even distribution. Press firmly for good seed-to-soil contact, keeping most seed near the surface rather than burying it deeply. Keep the seedbed lightly and consistently moist through germination and early establishment; then water as needed. Avoid waterlogged soil. Use 4 oz per 1,000 sq ft at the recommended coverage rate.

A meadow that comes quick & comes back

Color now. More to look forward to.

The expanded mix pairs faster annual flowers with a perennial foundation. Low white flowers soften the edges; daisy forms add bright color; and upright lupine and gayfeather bring height and texture. Give the planting time to establish, and let each season reveal a different balance of flowers.

02

Beautiful to pollinators. Less tempting to deer.

Invite the bees. Keep your expectations honest.

Flowers in the mix offer nectar and pollen for visiting bees and butterflies. The mix features species commonly described as deer-resistant or deer-tolerant, but resistance varies by species and site. Hungry deer may browse any planting, and young plants can benefit from temporary protection while they establish.
